MUSICA
ANTIQUA PROVENCE
In
1981, Christian MENDOZE founded MUSICA ANTIQUA, in
the Provence region,
in order to illustrate a repertoire revolving around music of the
Renaissance.
Since 1991, the ensemble has developed into a Baroque Orchestra
performing music
from the 17th and 18th centuries without employing the currently
fashionable mannerisms.
The ensemble plays original early instruments, or copies of early
instruments,
using a particularly rich and varied continuo line.
MUSICA ANTIQUA is subsidised by the Var Departmental Council
and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regional Council.
