SVETLIN
ROUSSEV VIOLIN
Charismatic
violinist, Svetlin ROUSSEV performs the violin repertoire
from the baroque period to contemporary music. Unforgettable in
slav music he is, in particular,
propagator of Bulgarian music. Svetlin ROUSSEV is Musician
of the Year 2006 in Bulgaria,
and was awarded in 2007 the Cristal Lyra, distinction of
the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria.
Invited as a soloist by different orchestras in the United-States,
Latin America, Asia and Europe,
he played under conductors as Myung-Whun Chung, Léon Fleisher,
Yehudi Menuhin,
Yuzo Toyama, Marek Janowski, Raymond Leppard, John Axelrod, Arie
Van Beek,
François-Xavier Roth, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Denis Russel-Davies...
Svetlin ROUSSEV has played in many prestigious concert halls
such as Salle Pleyel,
Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre de
la Ville, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées or Cité
de la Musique
and Palais de l'UNESCO in Paris, Halle aux Grains of Toulouse, Palais
des Beaux Arts of Brussels,
Alte Oper of Francfort, the Palace of Culture in Budapest,
the Sumida Triphony Center Hall
and Suntory Hall of Tokyo, the Seoul Arts Center or the Bolchoï
in Moscow...
In chamber music, Svetlin ROUSSEV encounters partners such
as Myung-Whun Chung,
Jean-Marc Luisada, Philippe Cassard, Éric Le Sage, Antoine
Tamestit, Vladimir Mendelssohn,
Xavier Philips, Paul Meyer, Philippe Bernold, and also cellist François
Salque
and pianist Elena Rozanova; together they form the Roussev-Salque-Rozanova
Trio.
Svetlin ROUSSEV begins very early the violin with his mother,
professor
at the music school of Ruse, his home town in Bulgaria, before entering
in 199
the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse
de Paris in the classes
of Gérard Poulet, Dévy Erlih and Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
Before starting an international career, Svetlin ROUSSEV
was prize-winner
of many international competitions (Indianapolis, Long-Thibaud,
Melbourne...).
Svetlin was voted Revelation of the year 2000
by the ADAMI
at the french industry music festival Midem of Cannes and was selected
for sponsorship by the Natexis-Banques Populaires Corporate Foundation.
In 2001, Svetlin was awarded First Prize, along with two
Special Prizes
at the 1st Sendaï International Competition, in Japan.
Refusing divisions, Svetlin ROUSSEV is also Concertmaster
of the Radio France
Philharmonic Orchestra, and since 2007,
Principal Guest Concertmaster of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
He also plays as a soloist without conductor in France, as well
as abroad.
After the success of his recording of pieces by Pancho Vladiguerov
with the pianist Elena Rozanova,
his recording of Karl Amadeus Hartmann's Concerto Funèbre,
with the Orchestre d'Auvergne conducted by Arie Van Beek was released.
He has just been appointed violin professor
at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de
Danse de Paris.
