HARUKO UEDA  PIANO

The exceptional talent of pianist Haruko UEDA was noticed by Henriette Puig-Roget
whilst she was teaching as guest professor at the University of Art and Music in Tokyo.
It was upon her advice that the pianist came to Paris to round off her musical training
with Vlado Perlemuter and Théodore Paraskivesco. In 1986 she was awarded a prize
at the Marguerite Long International Piano Competition.

Her passion for chamber music led her investigate the possibilities offered by the piano
within an ensemble; Christian Ivaldi helped her develop and go deeper into the subject.
She has subsequently performed with numerous musicians including Pavel Vernikov
and Olivier Charliers (violin), Bruno Pasquier (viola), Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi (cello)
and Michel Arrignon (clarinet).

Since 1996, she has produced and organised a series of concerts in Japan to which she has twice
invited Jean-Jacques Kantorow. This recording is a product of this collaboration.

Haruko UEDA has won many awards including the Sonata Prize at the Wieniawsky International
Violin Competition (1991) and the Prize for Best Accompaniment at the Japan International
Violin Competition (1995). She is currently assistant to Bruno Pasquier
and Fréderic Stochlin their chamber music classes,
and accompanist for the classes of Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Bruno Pasquier
at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris.
